HOW TO GET A GENTLEMAN’S HANDICAP
Submit 3 cards signed by a Member in a sealed envelope into the card box situated in the lobby of the Clubhouse – the gross score on each card should be less than 106. If you are joining from another Golf Club then submit your Handicap Certificate from that Club, in a sealed envelope, into the card box in the lobby of the Clubhouse. Your Handicap certificate will be pinned to the notice board in the lobby of the Clubhouse – your handicap certificate will also show your PIN (Personal Input Number), which will be required to enter your Competition score into the Club computer. Details of how to enter scores are shown on the keyboard of the computer in the lobby of the Clubhouse. You must play in three qualifying competitions per calender year to keep an active club handicap. If you fail to play in three competitions per calender year your handicap will become inactive and may restrict your competition eligibillity at Styal or other golf clubs you may play in competitions at.

The card will show – the type of Competition – the Competition date – your name – handicap fraction applicable to the Competition – tee of the day. HOW DO I QUALIFY FOR GENT’S COMPETITIONS
To play in the regular weekly Competitions you must have an official Styal Golf Club handicap. Members are eligible to play in Board Competitions if they have played in 6 (six) individual Competitions at Styal Golf Club or a previous Club in the previous 12 months prior to the actual Tournament staring date. The results of the Gent’s Competitions are regularly posted onto the howdidido website- links to this site are clearly displayed on all pages of the Club Website – www.styalgolf.co.uk

STYAL GOLF CLUB BOARD COMPETITION RULES
PLAY-OFFS
In the event of a tie after 18 holes in the following match play tournaments: The Styal Gents Knockout Competition, The Styal Gents Doubles Knockout Competition, The TOFFS singles match play trophy, the Toffs doubles match play trophy and the Sue Forster Trophy. Competitors must continue down the 1st hole (19th) and proceed onwards until a result is concluded. In the event of a tie in the Club Championship tournament, the players who have tied must replay over 18 holes on an agreed date. All other remaining board competitions in the event of a tie will be decided on the day of the tournament implementing the standard count back procedure governed by the Rules of Golf.

GENTLEMEN 7 DAY PLATINUM, 7 DAY GOLD, COLT & IN2GOLF MEMBERS
The above members are eligible to play in the following competitions if they have played in SIX individual competitions at Styal Golf Club or a previous club in the previous twelve months prior to the actual tournament date. Professionals Cup, The Styal Gents Singles Knockout Competition, The Styal Gents Doubles Knockout Competition, The Higham Cup, The Challenge Trophy, The Social Shield, The Alan Bethell Memorial Trophy, The Frank Burgess Trophy, The Club Championship, The Captains Trophy, The Winter League Shield, The Aquilla Trophy, Leathem Family Cup, The Winn Mixed Challenge Trophy and The Reid Rose Bowl.
GENTLEMEN 5-DAY PLATINUM & SILVER MEMBERS
The above members are eligible to play in the following competitions if they have played in SIX individual competitions at Styal Golf Club or a previous club in the past twelve months prior to the actual tournament date. The Styal Gents Singles Knockout Competition, The Styal Gents Doubles Knockout Competition, The Higham Cup, The Challenge Trophy, The Social Shield, Captains Trophy, The Frank Burgess Trophy The Aquilla Trophy, Leathem Family Cup, The Winn Mixed Challenge Trophy and The reid Rose Bowl.
LADY 5 DAY, 7 DAY, LADY JUNIOR & IN2GOLF MEMBERS
The above members are eligible to play in The Higham Cup, The Challenge Trophy, The Social Shield, The Ladies Shield, Lady Captains Day, The Sue Forster Trophy, The Merren Plate, The Aquilla Trophy, The Summer Cup, Leathem Family Cup and the Winn Mixed Challenge Trophy. Lady junior members are also eligible to play in The Ralph Bullock Junior Cup, The Junior Championship and the Junior Summer Plate.
Juniors can play in but not win the regular Thursday Competitions. A nominal prize will be given to the Junior with a winning score.
SENIOR MALE MEMBERS
The above named members are eligible to win if aged 60 and over and have subscribed to the seniors section the following tournaments. The Toffs Singles Match play Competition, The Toffs Doubles Match play Competition, The Seniors Presidents Putter, The Medal Winners Championship, The Eclectic and the Seniors Championship.
JUNIOR MALE MEMBERS
The above members are eligible to play in the following competitions if they have played in SIX individual competitions at Styal Golf Club or a previous club in the past twelve months prior to the actual tournament date: - The Professionals Cup, The Styal Gents Knockout Competition, The Club Championship, The Alan Bethell Memorial Trophy, The Social Shield, The Winter League Shield, Captains Trophy, The Higham Cup, The Ralph Bullock Junior Cup, The Junior Championship,

Individual thirty six-hole stroke play competition over two seperate days. The lowest thirty-six hole gross score wins the competition. The thirty-six hole best net handicap score will receive a subsidiary prize.
CAPTAINS TROPHY SATURDAY 10th JULY
The captains Trophy is an 18-hole tournament. The format of the tournament is to be decided by the current Captain. The winner of the Captains Trophy must attend the prize presentation. Failure to do so will forfeit the prize but his name will be still entered on the honours board.
